- Visit chemo patients that have been hospitalized – both adults and children both private and government
- Visit chemo patients in an out-patient setting whilst they are receiving chemo
- Plan and arrange public meetings
- Provide telephonic support to cancer survivors and patients
- Plan and arrange social activities for patients and survivors, i.e. Teas and Lunches, Picnics, etc.
- Plan and facilitate workshops for volunteers and patients
- Assist fellow NGO’s when they have major events
- Do breast health and cancer awareness at functions e.g. Woman’s Month Talks, Fund Raisers, and Avon iThemba Walkathon
- October Breast Health Awareness in hospitals and pharmacies
- Provide goody bags to patients on special days like Wing’s Birthday, Christmas and Chemo Days
- Run training courses for new supporters/volunteers
Confidentiality Agreement:
Our volunteers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of information relating to volunteers, events, patients and Wings of Hope business.
We do post photos with patients on our Facebook page and on our Website, please let us know if you do not want your photos on Facebook / the Website for any reason.
