Sometime in 2017 I found a very tiny lump on my left breast (for the second time). 1st one was removed 2009 and was non-cancerous. I decided to have it checked. 2019 1st April, was when I had my first ever mammogram and biopsy done and got my results on the 26th of April 2019. That was a day before I turned 30 and my 30th birthday celebration went on like nothing happened but deep down I was dying.
Finding out I had cancer wasn’t the worst for me, what was, was me finding out I’d lose my breast and that was because my breasts were the one part of me I loved the most! I just couldn’t imagine myself without my 2 beautiful best buddies…
20th of May 2019 was my 1st surgery which was to remove my lymph nodes and get them tested and the 1st of August 2019 was my second surgery which was a mastectomy and immediate reconstruction. 1st chemo was 15th October 2019 and my total sessions would be 20.
Fast forward to 2020, I’m 16 chemo sessions down my hair has grown back and life isn’t as bad. What got me this far was God’s Grace, all the support and love I received and realizing that I still had a lot I wanted to do and live for. Also knowing that there have been women who have gone through the same/similar situation and are living their best lives, made me want to fight with all I am.
After all “I HAVE CANCER, IT DOESNT HAVE ME”
