Selvie Naidoo
2016 A year I will never forget. My name is Selvie Naidoo.
I went to my Pulmonologist in May 2016.
My doctor admitted to me. Whilst I was in the hospital. I spoke to the doctor about my bleeding piles and feeling weak. The doctor was troubled because my blood was fine. After a week doctor called the Surgeon who took me to the theatre for a Colonoscopy.
The Surgeon confirmed Stage 3 advanced Colon Cancer and referred me to the Oncologist. I started Chemo (tablets) and Radiation. I then had a long operation to remove cancer which was a huge success. Thereafter I was on Chemo (tablets and intravenous) treatment. During this time, I was in the hospital for various reasons.
In 2017/18
I went into remission. In 2018 all my scan results were inconclusive, so I decided not to have treatment. This being against my Oncologist’s advice. In November 2018, my scans detected nodules on both my lungs. My results came back positive Stage 4 Cancer. I had both my lungs operated on. This was also a successful operation. I then went back to treatment.
2020, and I am now in full remission. My family and friends played an important part in my journey. If I can do it so can you. God is good. All the time. Be positive. Never give up hope. There is a CAN in CANCER.
To WING’S OF HOPE THANK YOU FOR BEING MY STRENGTH AND HOPE. TO ALL MY DOCTORS AND SPECIALISTS THANK YOU. TO GAUTENG ONCOLOGY THANK YOU. LOVE YOU ALL.
